Managed mobility, expense management or MDM:
which do you need?
Each one solves a different problem.
- Your devices: an MDM (mobile device management) is software your IT team uses to set up and secure company phones and tablets.
- The bill: telecom expense management (expense management, for short) checks and manages what you pay for telecom services.
- The daily work: managed mobility means handing the daily work of company phones to a provider.
Companies often run an MDM alongside one of the others. Before you choose, ask each provider one thing. Who sends carrier requests and follows up?
Neura Wireless is the platform for business wireless, and it does the carrier work behind every request.
| What to compare | MDM | Expense management | Managed mobility |
|---|---|---|---|
| Software or a service | Software. | Software, a service, or both. | A service. |
| What it covers | The devices: settings, apps, and locking or wiping a lost one. | Company phones, and often office phone lines and internet too. | Company phones. |
| The question it answers | “Are our devices set up and secure?” | “Are we paying the right amount?” | “Who does the daily work?” |
| Who sends carrier requests and follows up? | Not what an MDM does. | Depends on the provider; ask. | Depends on the provider; ask. |
Which one do you need?
If you have a handful of lines on one carrier and few changes, a spreadsheet can be enough.
If you need to lock down devices, you need an MDM. Neura Wireless works alongside your existing MDM; it doesn’t replace it.
If you want office phone lines and internet in the same bill review, look at expense management. Neura Wireless covers wireless only (company phones and lines), not office phone lines or internet. It can also work alongside an expense management tool you already use.
If carrier requests eat your team’s time, put the carrier question above to each provider.
Wireless expense management is a narrower practice.

Where Neura Wireless fits
Neura Wireless puts company phones, bills and devices in one place. It sends each request to the carrier, follows up, answers the carrier’s questions and confirms it’s done. When a charge isn’t on your plan, the platform flags it, and Neura Wireless takes your dispute to the carrier. It also flags lines billing with no use and asks you before changing anything.
You approve the decisions, and every action on your requests is recorded. You pick who runs it day to day: your own team in the platform, or Neura Wireless (Managed Mobility by Neura Wireless).
Questions
Do our carrier accounts stay in our name?
Yes. Your lines and carrier accounts stay in your company’s name, and Neura Wireless gets authorized access to manage them. You keep your own carrier portal access too.
What happens to the spreadsheet we use today?
Neura Wireless imports it when you move. The platform also builds your inventory from your carrier data and matches each line to the person who has it.
