# Can you offer managed mobility without a wireless team?

Yes, if a partner does the carrier work for you.
Managed mobility means handing the daily work of company phones to a provider.
With Neura Wireless, you stay your customers' IT provider, and Neura Wireless does the carrier work behind you on all three major carriers.
Your customer gets the [Neura Wireless platform](https://www.neurawireless.com/platform) and picks who runs it day to day: their own team, or [Managed Mobility by Neura Wireless](https://www.neurawireless.com/managed-mobility-services).
Some VARs may be better off doing it themselves, and the test for that is below.

Already have customers with company phones?
Their current lines come under Neura Wireless management as they are, with no new order.
Your customer contacts Neura Wireless directly for phone and line changes, and you stay their IT provider.

## The carrier work you'd take on

Every request has carrier work behind it.
Carrier work on a request has these steps:

- Send the request to the carrier.
- Follow up until it's done: remind, then escalate.
- Answer the carrier's questions.
- Ask your customer when a change needs their OK.
- Confirm it's done, and show where it stands.
- For credits and charges, check the next bill.

Carriers don't hand business customers a reference number or written confirmation for line changes.
Neura Wireless keeps its own record of each request and its confirmation.
Some changes still take a call to the carrier.

The carrier portals add their own work.
On more than one carrier, you have more than one portal.
Even one carrier can have more than one portal.
Roles and permissions are set up separately in each portal.
Portals export reports; putting carriers together is on you.

## Who runs it day to day

Your customer picks.
If their own team runs it in the Neura Wireless platform, their team requests changes, and their approvers approve them.
Neura Wireless sends each one to the carrier, follows up and confirms it.
Or Neura Wireless runs it day to day with Managed Mobility: it keeps the inventory and makes the changes.
Partners don't run the platform for their customers.

## Do it yourself or bring in a partner?

Our view: if a VAR has a deep understanding of wireless and a team capable of handling all of the day to day management of wireless, then they may be better off doing it themselves.

Look at a partner when:

- Your team doesn't have that depth in wireless yet.
- Your team doesn't have time for the carrier work above.
- Your customers are on more than one carrier, so more than one portal.

## New lines and quoting

Getting a customer a quote from all three major carriers can take 6 calls and 9–12 carrier people.
Instant Quote is our partner quoting tool. Your sellers get Instant Quote when your firm joins. We set them up.
We show it on a partner program call.
